It seems as though Bumble and Hinge have taken a look in the mirror and are trying to change their ways, as users report record levels of "dating app fatigue" and general burnout from seeing AI and bot accounts flooding their feeds.   Bumble, an app designed to allow women to make the first move, has announced today that male users can kick things off, too. Its new feature "opening moves" will let women set a prompt for potential suitors to respond to and (hopefully) initiate a conversation. Other new features allow users to skip the small talk and add "dating intention badges" like "fun, casual dates" or "ethical non-monogamy" to their profiles.    The app's execs have admitted that their users are exhausted by the admin that comes with online dating – their research shows that nearly 70 per cent of people have experienced dating app burnout, while 61 per cent said that dating is "more work" for women than it is for men.    It's not just Bumble shaking things up. Last week, Hinge announced a new feature that allows users to hide words that might upset or offend them. Side note: it's also a great method for filtering out people with mis-matching interests. For example, if you're a cat person, just cut to the chase and block accounts with the word "dog".
